Hurt by Religion?

I have met a few people who tell me that "religion is the root of all evil in the world today." Well, I agree. And the reason that is true is because of a very simple reason. Religion is man-made.

But then to be a Christian is following a religion, isnt it? Well actually no. Being a Christian is simply "following Jesus Christ", that's it - a true Christian is not a Catholic, not a Protestant, not a nobody! Just a plain disciple of Jesus Christ. (Point to ponder: Did Jesus have a denomination in the first place, that we have 'divided' ourselves into so many denominations)

Coming back to the topic, if religion is man-made, then what is it that will give you bliss. Here's the answer. Its RELATION - a true relation with God.

Build a relation with God - its unlike all the others. Enjoy.

Lesser Known Facts from the Bible

1. Universe - "Uni" (single) + "Verse" (spoken sentence). Refer Genesis 1.1 which says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"
2. Difference between Joseph and Moses - God trained Joseph in the wilderness so that he could rule in the palace while God trained Moses in the palace so that he could lead in the wilderness.

The Heart of God

Ever thought what the heart of God must be like. We do get a good glimpse when we ponder over John 3.16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Religion Redefined

I know many people who are hurt by religion. They see religion as the chief cause of the mess the world is in. Religion causes strife, divisions and problems. I AGREE.

The reason why religion causes problems is rather straightforward - Religion has been made by man. I repeat, Religion is man-made. Anything made by man always suffers from these consequences.

There is an alternative to religion. Yes, you'd be surprised to know that there is a God-made alternative to religion - it is called RELATION. Now relation is a topic that needs deep thought. Consider this anecdote - A lady goes to her doctor and tells him, "Doctor, I am a Parsi but my husband is a Hindu, what religion must I inculcate in my child?". The doctor paused thoughtfully and then replied, "Will your daughter call you by any other name other than mummy and does your religion matter in what she calls you?". No sooner the doctor has said this, than it dawned to her what the doctor was trying to impress upon her. Religion does not count, relation does.

God wants to enter into an an active relation with you. I have seen it first hand in my own life and in my future posts I shall tell you more. God loves you and wants to play an active part in your life, He wants to see you successful in everything you do, He wants to help you with your challenges and He is closely watching you.

Remember God loves you and He is waiting for you to rediscover your relation with Him. Are you ready to surrender your life to Him?

My Prayer Corner

A hard day, bad circumstances, difficult people, onerous responsibilities, depleting finances, paucity of recognition, loss of someone special...whatever you are going through, know that God is watching.

God loves you. God loves me. God loves each of us more than we can imagine. How do I know that? Let me explain. The Bible tells me that God loves us so much that He gave His only son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I can never comprehend how much love that is.

On this blog, I intend to write my thoughts as the Lord of my life dictates them to me...through His Word, His Son and His Holy Spirit.
